Community Relations

Born, raised, and living in Hawaiʻi, we have a vested interest in our communities, we know our people, and we have established strong ties across the islands — working in, with, and for Hawaiʻi. We foster relationships with vital stakeholders including cultural practitioners, NHOs, descendants, local media, community leaders, and government officials. Māmaka serves as a bridge between our communities and public or private organizations in education, healthcare, housing, transportation, hospitality, and retail.

Resource Management

Rooted in Hawaiian values with indigenous wisdom, Māmaka delivers comprehensive resource management services that protect, preserve, and perpetuate Hawaiʻi — our moʻolelo, wahi pana, and ʻāina. As kānaka ‘ōiwi, our inherent kuleana is to safeguard our islands by bridging regulatory mandates with traditional stewardship. We navigate complex historical, cultural, and compliance frameworks to ensure public and private initiatives honor the integrity of place, elevate our people, and cultivate lasting independence, equity and mobility.

ʻĀina Stewardship

We don’t just advise on resource management and community relations—we live it. Our 10,000-square-foot homestead is a living laboratory for traditional Hawaiian agroforestry, native plant preservation, and zero-waste circular economics. Here, ancestral agricultural wisdom meets active practice as we nurture native flora and manage mature, multi-layered canopies. This deep connection to the ʻāina allows us to ethically harvest raw materials and offer sustainable harvesting rights to our mango and avocado trees. By partnering directly with local artisans, woodturners, conservationists, and food processors, we ensure these resources flow back into our island community. This hands-on stewardship forms the physical foundation of our work, proving that the bridges we build between modern compliance and traditional practices are rooted in real, everyday action.
